Google Messages is now widely rolling out its new Keep Notes integration, following last week’s September 2026 Android Drop announcement.
Opening the “plus” menu inside a conversation reveals a new Keep Notes shortcut, and those pills can be reordered like usual. Alternatively, Google might surface a contextual “Create list” shortcut directly in the suggestions row.
Tapping the Keep icon loads a feed of existing notes, with a “Create a note” floating action button in the bottom-right corner. That opens a slightly modified editor limited to shortcuts for list creation and formatting, using whichever Google Account is signed into Messages.
The send button shares the note into the chat with a live preview, and tapping the resulting chat bubble reopens the note for editing, which comes in handy for checking off list items. The integration is meant to make it quick to create and share notes without leaving a conversation.
Keep Notes in Google Messages is rolling out via a server-side update and has reached wide availability in recent days.
