Amazon has reduced the 256GB Pixel 10 Pro XL in Moonstone to $850, a $450 discount against its $1,300 successor. Buyers trade newer silicon, extra camera tools, and one year of update support for lower cost and higher RAM than the base sequel.
Amazon has posted an $850 Pixel 10 Pro XL deal for the 256GB Moonstone edition, cutting $450 off the $1,300 price of its successor. The discount arrives as rising memory expenses driven by artificial intelligence demand continue to inflate consumer hardware prices across the industry. For shoppers looking for an immediate phone replacement or early holiday gifts, previous-generation hardware provides a practical alternative to climbing flagship costs. The deal stands out further because the 256GB configuration contains more RAM than the base model of the newer Pro XL, helping buyers come out ahead over time.

Choosing the older device means accepting certain compromises on components and software longevity. Google assigned a seven-year update commitment to the Pixel 10 series. Because twelve full months of that lifecycle have already passed, purchasers receive one fewer year of software updates than buyers of the new release. Hardware changes also separate the models. The older phone runs on a Tensor G5 processor instead of the updated Tensor G6. It also includes a dimmer display and a smaller telephoto camera sensor. In addition, the handset lacks Google’s HiLight capability, which the reviewer described as an underbaked feature.
Software availability shows similar distinctions between the generations. The Camera Looks feature is the most prominent absence on the older handset, and Google has announced no plans to backport the photography tool to previous models. The reviewer argued that Camera Looks alone does not justify spending an extra $450, noting that Google could still deliver the feature in future system updates. Exclusive artificial intelligence functions follow a comparable pattern. Tools such as Rambler remain limited to the Pixel 11 for now. Even so, third-party developers have already created competing alternatives, and updated speech recognition software will likely arrive on earlier phones eventually.
