Google Photos integration comes to Gemini Spark for Pro and Ultra users

Gemini Spark, the paid Gemini feature that runs complex, multi-step tasks in the background, is getting a significant addition this week: Google Photos support. The integration, reported by Droid Life, is a major connection for Spark, since it opens the door to Google Photos-related requests that could otherwise take hours to complete manually.

As part of the announcement, Google shared examples of what the Google Photos integration can do, such as finding every vacation selfie in a library, erasing background crowds from those photos, and recentering the subject in each shot.

Spark can also be asked to gather every photo from a specific trip, apply edits like brightening the images or boosting shadows across the batch, and then email the finished set to whoever was on that trip. In a more everyday use case, Spark could be set up to create a weekly shared folder of new photos of a person’s kids that’s easy to pass along to grandparents.

Google listed several other possible uses as well, including building collages or videos, applying a consistent style across a batch of photos, generating summaries of events, pulling text out of images, and handling other recurring photo tasks users might come up with on their own.

Google Photos support within Gemini Spark is rolling out now and is expected to reach Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers over the “next few weeks.” To set it up, users need to make sure Google Photos is toggled on under Connected Apps within Spark.
