The Exynos 2700 has reportedly entered volume production at Samsung, with output running more than 10% above the Exynos 2600’s as the Galaxy S27 Pro joins the lineup.
The Galaxy S27, S27+, and Pro are expected to carry the Exynos 2700 in Korea and Europe, with that rollout coming alongside reports that the Galaxy S27 series could get more expensive overall, particularly for buyers who want more storage. Meanwhile, buyers in the US, China, and other regions are expected to get Snapdragon versions instead. The Galaxy S27 Ultra’s chip, however, remains undecided, with Samsung’s own internal divisions reportedly disagreeing on which processor it should get.

Samsung’s System LSI division, which designs the Exynos line, reportedly wants the Exynos 2700 inside the S27 Ultra, since a win there would boost the division’s earnings and reputation. MX, Samsung’s mobile unit, has the final say, and is reportedly still evaluating performance and thermal behavior, weighing Qualcomm’s pricing, and confirming whether the SF2P production line can supply chips at the volume needed.
Cost may ultimately be the deciding factor. According to The Elec, Samsung is raising its share of Exynos chips partly to reduce its reliance on Qualcomm, which lines up with earlier reports of a pricier Galaxy S27 lineup as memory costs climb. If Samsung does go with its own chip for the S27 Ultra, it would mark the first Exynos-powered Ultra model since the Galaxy S22 Ultra in 2022.

Internal Geekbench 6 runs reportedly put the Exynos 2700 about 9.5% ahead of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 in multi-core testing. Qualcomm’s chip has posted a multi-core score of 12,856, which would put the Exynos 2700 above 14,000, though Qualcomm likely still holds the single-core advantage. Short benchmark runs on unreleased silicon reveal little about power consumption and thermal management, areas MX is reportedly still examining closely.
Earlier Exynos 2700 testing hinted that Samsung may be focusing just as much on efficiency as on outright speed. One engineering sample reportedly delivered Exynos 2600-class performance while running below 3GHz, and a new Heat Path Block design has also been linked to the chip for improved cooling.
