Realme will bring ColorOS 17, based on Android 17, to dozens of phones from October 29, 2026, starting with the Realme GT 8 Pro. The update adds new animations, a Lumious Rendering engine, and on-device AI features.

Oppo has announced the ColorOS 17 upgrade, based on Android 17, for the smartphones of its parent group BBK Electronics, including OnePlus and Realme. OnePlus already announced a beta upgrade to ColorOS 17 for its OnePlus 15 flagship, and the Realme ColorOS 17 update is now on the way too. It brings a completely new UI with a flow design, improved animations, interactive menus and buttons, and a dedicated Lumious Rendering engine that uses less RAM and leaves more space for running apps. Lock screen customization also improves, with a new clock style, weather effects, and more. Realme has shared its release timeline as well, which is listed in full below.
This guide covers the features coming to Realme phones with ColorOS 17, along with the list of eligible models.

Realme phones will get ColorOS 17 with Android 17. Realme Vice President Chase Xu recently said the company focuses on bringing new technology and features to younger users. He added that smartphones in 2026 will balance powerful hardware with great interactive software. ColorOS 17 on Realme phones includes the following features.
UI and animation changes. Interactive animations create a fluid design and make app switching smooth, without stuttering. The volume and brightness sliders are redesigned. Translucent, glass-like effects inspired by Apple’s iOS 17 arrive alongside bouncy gestures. On the widget side, there is a new clock widget with new Always-On Display transitions, plus new lock screen and home screen themes called Mountain Way.
AI upgrade. The update includes agentic AI features that go beyond answering questions. ColorOS 17’s agentic AI can organize, create content, and complete tasks on your smartphone. A dedicated feature called AI Mind Pilot is an agentic AI assistant integrated locally on your smartphone, so everything stays on the device. It doesn’t use servers and can do more than answer questions in a chat.
Realme phones will also get AI Photo agent features that edit photos from simple text prompts. They can handle object replacement, portrait enhancements, lighting adjustments, and more. Live Interpreter lets Realme phones recognize voice and communicate in a natural tone. AI Call Guard uses on-device AI to detect potential fraud, including AI-generated voices and AI face swaps, and alerts users when it spots suspicious activity.
Realme is also introducing AI Mind Space, where on-device AI remembers, captures, organizes, and recalls past information. AI Mind Suggest then surfaces the information you need without any research on your part.

Alongside the new features and AI upgrades, Realme announced the full ColorOS 17 release timeline and the list of devices that will receive the new OS. Here is the complete schedule.

Two things to check before publishing: the source spells the rendering engine “Lumious Rendering”, which I kept as written, so confirm whether it should be “Luminous”. I also corrected the source’s typos in the device list (“Relame” to “Realme”, “5g” to “5G”).
