Nothing might finally be putting its own name on a smartwatch, and the rumored specs suggest it could be the company’s first real entry into Wear OS.
Nothing’s First Self-Branded Smartwatch Reportedly Coming in September
While there’s reportedly been some turbulence behind the scenes at Nothing recently, the company appears to be moving ahead with new products. Next up, it seems, is a Nothing-branded smartwatch.
Leaker Yogesh Brar claims that Nothing is preparing to launch its first self-branded smartwatch in September, a product expected to cost “under” $300 and launch in “limited markets” with a design that fits Nothing’s usual aesthetic.
This wouldn’t be the company’s first smartwatch overall. Nothing’s CMF sub-brand has already released two smartwatches aimed at budget-conscious customers, but neither carried the Nothing name directly, and those CMF watches were widely considered rough around the edges.
Could This New Watch Run Wear OS?
The “under $300” price point is a telling detail. The CMF watches have stayed well under $100 and run on a lightweight RTOS as a result. A more expensive device suggests something more capable could be on the way, possibly even Google’s Wear OS. Assuming a price somewhere in the $250 to $300 range, that would place it well below the Pixel Watch and Galaxy Watch lineups, though affordable Wear OS watches aren’t unprecedented. Whether Nothing follows through with this approach remains to be seen, but it would mark a meaningful step up for the brand’s wearable lineup.
