Xiaomi has confirmed the first stable HyperOS 4 update will begin rolling out in China on October 15 to 12 devices, in batches. No official date has been announced for the global or India release.
Xiaomi has confirmed that the HyperOS 4 stable update will start reaching users in China on October 15. The first batch of stable builds is meant for select Xiaomi, Redmi, and tablet owners, and the wait is nearly over. The news arrives as Xiaomi’s internal testing recruitment is scheduled to close on October 14. Because the builds will go out in batches, eligible devices may not all receive the update on the same day.

The first phase covers 12 devices across Xiaomi’s flagship smartphones, the Redmi K90 series, and the Xiaomi Pad 8 lineup. These models are scheduled to get the update in China from October 15:
Xiaomi intends to stagger the release instead of pushing it to every eligible device at once, so a phone or tablet on the list may still have to wait its turn. The company has also laid out a broader rollout schedule for China, and another batch is expected to start later in October.

So far, Xiaomi has confirmed the stable schedule only for China and has not given an official date for the global release. The company has, however, begun beta testing HyperOS 4 on several devices in global markets. That suggests international users are part of the update program too, although the stable timeline is still unconfirmed.
Going by the current rollout plan, the global update could begin later in October. Xiaomi has not confirmed timing for India, so that window should not be treated as an official release date.
The first batch leans toward newer flagship phones, the Redmi K90 family, and Xiaomi’s latest tablets. Owners of eligible devices should watch the software update section in their phone’s settings once the rollout starts.
Since Xiaomi releases major updates in stages, it may take a while for the update to reach every device, even one that appears on the eligible list. Before installing the new software, make sure the device has enough free storage and battery.
Indian users should mainly watch for Xiaomi’s announcement of the global and India rollout schedule. Until then, October 15 applies only to the first stable release in China.
