New leaks are offering the clearest look yet at HyperOS 4, and they suggest Xiaomi is preparing the biggest visual overhaul in the software’s history, including a redesigned interface and refreshed wallpapers.
Liquid Glass Interface Leak Details
Screenshots reportedly pulled from internal Xiaomi 18-series prototypes running an early Android 17-based build of HyperOS 4 reveal a “Liquid Glass”-style design language built around translucent interface elements, softer blur effects, and a generally refreshed appearance. Other changes spotted in the leak include redesigned 2.5D app icons, thicker status bar icons, a shortened gesture navigation bar, and a handful of smaller interface tweaks aimed at giving the software a more modern feel overall.
New Wallpapers Reinforce the Redesign
Newly leaked wallpapers add further support to the redesign, showcasing abstract layered graphics with translucent ribbons, smooth gradients, and depth effects that align with the updated visual direction. These wallpapers are paired with revised lock screen layouts featuring bold typography, further reinforcing Xiaomi’s apparent push toward a cleaner, more premium aesthetic across HyperOS 4.
Xiaomi has not yet made any official announcement confirming these features, and specific visual elements could still change before launch. Even so, both the interface and wallpaper leaks point to a substantial redesign rather than a routine visual refresh for the Xiaomi 18 series.
