Huawei has officially unveiled the Huawei Mate 90 Pro in China, a new flagship that starts at ¥6,999 for the base 12GB + 256GB model. The phone pairs a Tandem OLED display with 12,000 nits of local peak brightness, the new Kirin 9035 processor, a 50MP variable-aperture main camera, eSIM satellite communications, and a 6600mAh battery. Upgrades to the display, silicon, satellite connectivity, and camera headline the release.

The screen is the centerpiece of the phone. It is a 6.75-inch 1.5K flat panel built on next-generation Tandem (dual-layer) LTPO OLED technology, and it reaches 12,000 nits of local peak brightness, plus 2,200 nits in High Brightness Mode (HBM). That should keep content easy to read outdoors, even in direct, harsh sunlight.

For low-light use, the display combines 1440Hz PWM dimming, which helps limit eye strain, with a 120Hz dynamic refresh rate. Huawei’s 3rd Generation Kunlun Glass covers the panel and provides drop and scratch resistance.

The new Kirin 9035 processor runs the phone alongside an upgraded Maleoon 935 GPU. The silicon is described as delivering a notable speed boost, fluent multitasking, console-grade graphics performance, and better efficiency. HarmonyOS 7 comes preinstalled out of the box and brings system-level AI workflows, fluid animations, and strong multi-device ecosystem features.
Huawei’s XMAGE imaging system gets a major generational upgrade. The rear camera island is led by a 50MP RYYB main sensor (1/1.28″) with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), LOFIC high-dynamic-range technology, and a physical variable aperture running from F/1.4 to F/4.0 (24mm equivalent). The rest of the camera hardware looks like this:

A large 6600mAh battery sits inside a body that is just 7.95mm thick and weighs 222 grams. When it is time to recharge, the phone supports:
The phone carries IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, covering both deep submersion and high-pressure water jets. Built-in eSIM satellite communications support is meant for off-grid travel and emergencies. Other hardware includes Wi-Fi 7+, Bluetooth 6.0, multi-function NFC, a USB 3.1 Gen1 port with DisplayPort 1.2 output, an IR Blaster, and a fast side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The Mate 90 Pro is available in China now in these configurations:
