Honor MagicOS 11 debuts on September 15 with a set of new features for eligible devices, ranging from a smoother, more fluid UI to a more capable AI assistant. Honor unveiled MagicOS 11 at its 2026 Global Developer Conference, and the company said the official version will open for unlimited testing right after the event, with compatibility across many models.
Glazed Architecture reworks the UI from the ground up
At the core of the update is what Honor calls Glazed Architecture, which reconstructs Android 17 from scratch to unlock a more transparent UI. According to Honor, that makes MagicOS the first Android skin to achieve a Liquid Glass effect. The architecture supports pre-planned unified rendering and lets users adjust transparency without extra steps, which Honor says results in almost zero increase in power consumption.
Glazed Architecture also includes the Hummingbird framework, which Honor says has mastered liquid animation effects on Android. It relies on a new physical model that supports variable parameter bounce, a chain bounce model, and more. As a result, Honor says MagicOS 11 delivers 20% improved smoothness across all supported models, for a smoother UI and animation experience overall.
Faster charging, smarter YOYO, and more storage
MagicOS 11 also brings multi-protocol fast charging, with Honor saying the update makes wireless charging more efficient. Alongside that, a second-generation Storage Space 2.0 uses lossless compression on stored data and automatically clears redundant files, which Honor says can free up to 60GB of storage.
Another addition is the Hongyan AI Cloud Map feature, which automatically selects the optimal network to improve the user experience, particularly in weak-signal scenarios, and MagicOS 11 now supports connecting two Bluetooth headsets to a single device.
Honor’s YOYO assistant has also become more capable with MagicOS 11: it now remembers instructions and can execute accurate commands automatically. Rather than requiring users to search through text messages or apps, YOYO can recognize pickup codes, meal pickup numbers, trip reminders, and similar details on its own. It can also integrate with home devices, handle cross-platform file transfers across three major operating systems, make AI-driven calls, and generate schedules and to-do lists, among other tasks.
