Google has published its monthly Google System Release Notes, detailing what’s new across Play services, Play Store, and Play system update for Android phones and tablets, Wear OS, Google and Android TV, Auto, and PC. Some changes are aimed at end users, while others target developers, and Google notes that a changelog entry doesn’t guarantee wide availability, since some features take months to fully launch.

The “Google System” is made up of a set of first-party apps; here’s how to check each one’s version:

Google Play Store v53.1 (2026-09-07)

The Play Store update adds a short description highlighting a key feature in the similar apps section of app details pages, plus a way to see which devices an app is installed on from the other devices sub-navigation. A new navigation bar also makes it easier to explore more interests directly from Play’s home pages.

Separately, Android System Intelligence B.29/C.7 (2026-09-03) ships with bug fixes and maintenance changes on phone.
