Samsung is rolling out the stable Android 17-based One UI 9 update to Galaxy A37 units in the United States. Available for locked and unlocked models, the release adds interface customization and updated apps, though it lacks the October 2026 security patch.

Samsung is rolling out the stable Galaxy A37 One UI 9 update in the United States. Based on Android 17, the software brings the latest operating system to the mid-range catalog shortly after launching on flagship Galaxy S and Galaxy Z devices. The prompt expansion to mid-tier hardware came as a surprise, given how little time elapsed between the flagship rollout and this mid-range release.
The arrival in the American market follows a phased regional timeline. The Galaxy A37 first received One UI 9 last week in an initial release restricted to South Korea. Global distribution widened yesterday when the update arrived across Europe, leading to the current rollout in the United States. Availability applies to both carrier-locked and factory-unlocked models. Carrier-branded variants receive the firmware version A37UQQU5BZI6, while factory-unlocked devices receive the firmware version A376U1EU5BZI6. Because the rollout recently started, the software may take a couple of days to reach every individual handset.

Galaxy A37 owners in the United States can check for the software manually by navigating through the device settings. The check requires opening Settings, selecting Software update, and tapping the Check for updates option. When the download becomes available for a device, the system begins downloading the package automatically. This installation does not include the October 2026 security patch. That security patch was omitted from the current build and will likely arrive as a separate download.

One UI 9 introduces functional refinements across core tools without altering the main visual design or adding a large feature roster. The Quick Panel gains expanded customization controls, enabling users to resize and rearrange the setting tiles. In the Settings application, Samsung added a dedicated Warranty and Care section to house device support and warranty details. The Samsung Health application also receives a redesigned interface layout.
Privacy transparency is expanded through a new location indicator that signals when services access device position data. For virtual assistance, the release introduces a new Bixby experience powered by large language models, alongside dedicated Bixby widgets. The lock screen adds more customizable widgets so users can adjust displayed information. In addition, the default Samsung Notes application receives several user interface modifications.
