Zepp Health has released a new firmware update for select Amazfit smartwatches in the Balance and Cheetah series, adding fresh functionality for both training sessions and everyday use, including a new Bluetooth speaker mode.
What’s Included in Firmware 6.2.104.6
The rollout covers firmware version 6.2.104.6, now reaching three devices: the Amazfit Cheetah 2 Ultra, the Amazfit Balance 3, and the Amazfit Balance Ultra. Among the additions are a new map orientation mode and automatic dive detection. Detecting diving sessions is relatively straightforward for smartwatches equipped with a pressure sensor, since underwater pressure changes rapidly within seconds while horizontal movement stays minimal, making it easy for the sensor to distinguish diving from other activities.

Bluetooth Speaker Mode and Other Additions
The update also lets these smartwatches function as Bluetooth speakers. The practical value of this feature may be limited for everyday use, since built-in speakers on models like the previously tested Amazfit Cheetah 2 Pro deliver reasonable clarity but not much volume. Even so, it’s a welcome bonus feature for users who want it.
Software Optimizations and UI Changes
Beyond the new hardware-facing features, the changelog also details several software improvements. The algorithm used to calculate lactate threshold has been refined, giving runners a more accurate metric to base their training around. The update rounds out with three user interface enhancements, including a redesigned visual layout that appears when reaching a destination during map navigation.
