Samsung may open a One UI 9.5 beta soon after test firmware appeared for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, ahead of an expected release alongside the Galaxy S27.

Test firmware for Samsung’s One UI 9.5 beta has surfaced on the company’s servers for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, suggesting that a beta program is right around the corner. Samsung could open registrations very soon, with the beta program expected to kick off either later this month or early next month. The spotted software build carries firmware version S948BXXU6ZZK3, and Samsung upgraded the phone’s bootloader version from U5 to U6. Like One UI 9, which has been rolling out to Samsung phones for a while now, this new update is based on Android 17.

One UI 9.5 will almost certainly debut with the Galaxy S27 series early next year. Samsung is expected to announce four phones in that lineup: the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, Galaxy S27 Pro, and Galaxy S27 Ultra. Those devices are expected to arrive in January or February.
Following the arrival of the Galaxy S27 family, the Galaxy S26 series will be among the first devices to receive the One UI 9.5 update. That rollout includes the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Those three phones, along with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series and Galaxy Z Flip 8, will likely be the first to get it. That release could easily happen in Q1 2027.

Users eager to participate in the beta program should not have a long wait at this point. Even so, it remains unknown what exactly One UI 9.5 will bring, and there is currently no information available about specific features or changes.
One UI 9 brought several upgrades. That version added more customization options for Quick Toggles, delivered deeper Gemini integration, introduced additional AI features, and updated several Samsung apps. It also made a slight change to the look of One UI, along with other additions.
