Honor Magic 9 series reportedly led 2026 Android flagship sales with 390,000 units in week 42, ahead of an overseas launch set for January 2027.

The Honor Magic 9 series has recorded the highest monthly sales for an Android flagship in China, taking first place in the 2026 flagship sales ranking. Following its domestic debut last month and ahead of a planned overseas release in January 2027, the lineup sold 390,000 units during week 42, according to leaker DigitalChatStation. The sales volume surpassed several competing flagships launched during the same timeframe. Guan Haitao, the Vice President of Marketing at Honor, reposted the leak and confirmed the result, stating, “Yes, Android flagship TOP 1”.

This early commercial performance marks a major turnaround for the company after the Magic 8 series struggled in the sales market last year. DigitalChatStation stated that the previous Magic 8 lineup lagged behind in the Chinese smartphone competition. With the new generation, the tipster credited the Magic 9 series’ camera features for driving consumer interest, noting that the sales win puts Honor back in the race as a tough competitor in the flagship market.

Honor introduced the Magic 9 lineup across three models: Standard, Pro Max, and Super Edition. All three models differ in terms of their displays, chipsets, and imaging aspects, offering distinct hardware configurations across the family. Despite those differences, all three handsets share common core specifications. The shared hardware includes ARRI camera features, bigger batteries, a flagship-grade mobile chip, and Honor’s MagicOS 11 operating system based on Android 17.
To further expand photography capabilities, Honor released two dedicated teleconverter lenses alongside the series. These optical accessories are compatible only with the standard Magic 9 and the Magic 9 Pro Max. The lineup is now preparing for an overseas rollout scheduled for January 2027. That international debut will show whether Honor adjusts the hardware specifications or software features for global buyers compared to the devices currently sold in China.
