Samsung may bring an improved Galaxy S27 Privacy Display to the Pro and Ultra models in early 2027, while skipping the base and Plus versions.

Samsung is aiming to equip two upcoming Galaxy S27 smartphones with an improved Galaxy S27 Privacy Display, according to a report from SamMobile. That privacy screen feature originally debuted earlier this year on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. For the next generation, Samsung plans to offer the updated technology on both the Galaxy S27 Ultra and the Galaxy S27 Pro. That inclusion makes the Galaxy S27 Pro a newcomer to the Galaxy S series and marks the first time a non-Ultra device receives the privacy viewing feature.

The report does not detail how Samsung intends to improve the privacy functionality on the newer panels. In addition to that display update, the source claims the two phones will feature enhanced display brightness, which should make the screens considerably easier to see under direct sunlight. Meanwhile, the standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ will not receive the Privacy Display feature, corroborating an earlier report. For now, the technology remains reserved exclusively for the Pro and Ultra models.

Hardware differences will also divide the four models. The Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra will come with a redesigned camera plateau on the rear casing. The standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ will not receive that rear camera update, leaving both phones looking basically the same as current-generation hardware. In terms of overall appearance, the Galaxy S27+ will match the styling of the base Galaxy S27, built in a larger body size.
Samsung is expected to release all four Galaxy S27 smartphones in the first quarter of 2027. The launch is anticipated to occur in either January or February, depending on final scheduling decisions. Those two calendar months represent the traditional launch window that Samsung has relied on for introducing new Galaxy S flagship phones for years now.
