Samsung may schedule its next Galaxy S27 launch for January, moving the release window earlier in the winter than in recent cycles. A report from tech tipster Lanzuk, writing under the handle yeux1122 on the South Korean platform Naver, indicates the smartphone family remains on track for early next year. The company has already finalized the core hardware components for both the standard Galaxy S27 and the Galaxy S27 Plus. That milestone shifts the base models into active schedule management, which usually brings volume assembly into clear view and points toward an attempt to arrive well ahead of the late-February timeframe seen with the Galaxy S26.
A January rollout is not guaranteed, however, and potential adjustments across the top tiers could still alter the calendar. The leak notes that unexpected delays could slip the debut to “February at the latest” if internal roadblocks appear. Much of that uncertainty stems from revisions Samsung is evaluating for the premium Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra, the two devices positioned above the regular editions.

Engineers are reportedly weighing late hardware upgrades to UFS 5.0 storage and LPDDR6 RAM on the Pro and Ultra variants. Those components would boost device speed while adding substantial expense. Global memory prices have climbed sharply because artificial intelligence data centers consume a large share of worldwide manufacturing capacity. It remains uncertain whether Samsung will absorb the extra expense or pass it along to buyers. The manufacturer previously asked suppliers for component shipment reductions of up to 30%, and it increased Galaxy S26 retail pricing in South Korea and the United States to balance elevated parts costs.

Processor validation presents a second hurdle for the launch window. Early engineering assessments for the Galaxy S27 Ultra have reportedly run into thermal complications connected to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. If engineers cannot settle those heat levels, Samsung might need to equip the Ultra with its in-house Exynos 2700 instead, a substitution the company would likely prefer to avoid. Qualcomm has contested reports of thermal trouble, so the processor dispute remains unconfirmed.
Preliminary leaks indicate that the standard Galaxy S27 will start at $899, while the top-tier Galaxy S27 Ultra will reach $1,399. Prospective buyers should not expect discounts as the launch nears, because elevated component expenses could push retail prices higher.
