Samsung has begun rolling out the Android 17-based One UI 9 update to Galaxy S23 devices, starting with previous beta testers in South Korea. Broader regional availability is expected within one to two weeks, though official release notes have not yet confirmed the exact AI feature set.

Samsung has started distributing its stable Android 17 software to its 2023 flagship phones. The Galaxy S23 One UI 9 update is now arriving for eligible handsets, following the platform rollout that began in late September. Over the past three weeks, several older Samsung flagship phones along with the latest Galaxy A series models picked up the build. Now the company is bringing the new system version to its oldest eligible premium devices.

According to posts shared on Samsung Community forums and highlighted by tipster Tarun Vats on X, the stable firmware is currently reaching Galaxy S23 units in South Korea. The release follows just days after Samsung launched the update for the Galaxy S24 lineup in the United States. For now, the rollout remains restricted to South Korean users who previously participated in the One UI 9 beta testing program.

Global Availability and Feature Scope

If previous Samsung software schedules hold true, Galaxy S23 owners in other countries should see the stable update appear within the next week or two. Official release documentation for the South Korean models has not yet been revised. Because of that omission, it remains unconfirmed whether the older phones will gain the complete collection of new AI capabilities introduced in One UI 9, or if the package will focus mostly on visual refinements over One UI 8.5.

The Galaxy S23 series represents the oldest flagship generation scheduled to receive this Android 17 software tier. Owners of Galaxy S23 hardware should check for incoming software notifications over the coming days as distribution widens across additional carrier networks and global territories.
