Samsung has begun rolling out the Galaxy A54 October 2026 security update, making the mid-range smartphone one of the first Galaxy A series devices to receive the manufacturer’s newest monthly maintenance release. The over-the-air update is currently live for the international variant in Thailand, where it arrives under firmware version A546EXXSNFZJ3. At present, the rollout remains confined to limited regions, but Samsung is expected to expand distribution to other eligible variants and geographic markets in the coming days.
The release timing presents an interesting development within Samsung’s device lineup. The Galaxy A54 picked up this latest patch even before the newer Galaxy A57 received it. In addition, Samsung recently delivered the October 2026 security patch to the Galaxy A15 5G, providing it as part of that device’s third One UI 9.0 beta build.

According to Samsung, the latest update addresses as many as 62 known software issues and strengthens overall device security, while also resolving miscellaneous system bugs and glitches. The Korean manufacturer confirmed the quantity of fixes included in the software, though it has not shared further technical details explaining the severity levels or the specific nature of those vulnerabilities.

Alongside the security update, Samsung opened its One UI 9.0 beta program for Galaxy A54 owners. Enrolling in the preview gives users an early opportunity to test the Android 17-powered skin before the software reaches general public release. Samsung has not published an official rollout timeline for the One UI 9.0 beta program, but registered participants normally receive test software on their devices within a few days of enrollment.
Samsung treats the monthly security patch and the One UI 9.0 beta as entirely separate releases. Receiving the October security build does not mean the full Android 17 operating system upgrade is ready for installation. For now, Galaxy A54 users can install the October security update as soon as the firmware becomes available in their region, while the One UI 9.0 beta continues through its separate preview cycle.
