Google released Android 17 QPR2 Beta 7.1 on a Friday for supported Pixel devices. The update is minor. Official documentation details only a single bug fix alongside one potential issue, keeping the overall scope small.

That lone fix resolves severe user interface stuttering and multi-second system freezes, logged as Issue #571186734 in the October 2026 notes. Meanwhile, Pixel 11 Pro Fold owners face a new potential complication. Users of the foldable device may need to re-enroll Face Unlock for biometric security to function properly, though Google notes the issue is not critical.

Joining the Android Beta Program is the primary route to receive the update. For manual installation, Google also provides downloadable OTA system images.
