Amazfit has officially announced its September 2026 update, which is already rolling out to many of the brand’s smartwatches and adds new navigation features alongside other improvements. The software release covers many Balance, T-Rex, Cheetah, and Active series models, and the full list of supported watches appears below.
The navigation changes come first. The seven additional coordinate formats can be found under Settings > Preferences > Coordinates. Turn alerts are now calculated more accurately, and the watches gain extra waypoint types and icons.

Beyond navigation, the home screen has a new setting that lets you switch the UI background blur on or off. Raise-to-Wake is more sensitive, and the post-workout flow for Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) is said to be better. Amazfit also made changes to cycle tracking, strength training, pool swimming, and pickleball activities. The complete change log is available on Amazfit’s website.

Some of these features have already reached Amazfit smartwatch owners in earlier firmware releases. A similar update also appears to be rolling out to the Balance 2, according to Reddit users, even though Amazfit has not officially announced it for that model.

It's a familiar refrain in tech: from a few feet away, this year's Pixel Watch looks just like last year's. On the surface, the Google Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Watch 5 look nearly identical, sharing the same domed glass design, the same fast-charging setup, and the latest version of Wear OS. The Pixel Watch […]

Apple Watch Series 12 vs Pixel Watch 5 is ultimately a comparison that comes down mainly to which phone someone already carries, since neither watch works across ecosystems. But for anyone still weighing iOS against Android, there are real differences elsewhere too, spanning GPS accuracy, heart rate sensing, battery life, and each company's onboard AI […]
